An uninvited guest can be a bother, especially if he's under a spell that prevents him from leaving. Eliona is a dryad, living peacefully in her tree in the Sacred Grove, until Nimue's spell binds the Merlin to her and makes him Eliona's permanent guest. Now Eliona must find a way to free him from her tree, or it--and she--will die.
This story was originally published in the anthology Return to Avalon, 1996.
Trees of Avalon eBook Elisabeth Waters
The dryad Eliona was napping peacefully in her tree in the Sacred Grove of Avalon when she was rudely awakened by the Merlin barging in. He seemed disoriented but, worse, didn't seem to be able to leave. He was certainly handsome and she had always admired him, but there are limits. His friends came to call and the deer ate the green shoots of her tree, the birds flocked to the branches and threatened to break them and when his harp strings snapped they dug grooves in the inner bark. What is a dryad to do? Find out why and how he was trapped in her tree and set him free, of course. With a twist to keep it from ever happening again.Product details
